On a "Short" Break

Actually I'm really stuck with this accounting assignment of mine, and have drifted off... not wanting to fall alseep, I decided to check some sites out - I heard on 680 News (that station rocks! -- yes, call me a geek, but they have a few funky news broadcasters there) about this tribute site for Queen Mum. It's actually the official one where you can write your condolences. I checked it out - it's quite informative. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a Queen Mum fanatic, but I think she's a very well-respected lady. Before, I only knew of her 'cause I thought she was really cute :) her smile is one of the nicest ones in the royal family! After watching and reading several biographies on her, I realized how courageous she was. Well, I'm not sure if courageous is the word, but I'm having writer's block right now. But what she did during the World War II really got me amazed.

Anyway, if you want to check the site out: Queen Mum's Memorial Site

Good Old Macy....

Lyds (aka procrastination soulmate) and I found another common mutual friend.... It's bizarre how we just met like that and realized how many mutual friends we have in between - church related or not! Lyds, I'll be sure to tell Macy the next time I see her about this little incident!

This is soooo cool.... if you're confused with what I'm referring to, check out Lyds' blogger (the link is on the right of this entry) and her entry today. Oh yeah, she mentioned me in there too!! So DO check it out! Hee hee!

BTW, I would've made a link right in this entry to Lyds' blogger, but unfortunately, UTORONTO is still giving me a headache... booo! I gotta get a while to get used to this.

Sushi and Second Cup…

… is not a bad mix together…nor is it a good mix also (I have yet to find out!). It was an interesting night. I needed a break from studying so I went out for a quick bite with Ian. I was feeling a bit hungry and thirsty at the same time, hence we came up with this solution. :) Interesting, no? Quite bizarre though!

I can play the Pathetique on my own now! Yay! One of the first pieces I learned on my own! Whether I can play it well or not is another issue ;) but I’m still pretty happy.

Mr. X (re: March 25, 2002 entry) is fine now – feeling a bit dizzy but otherwise all right. He went home on Wednesday, so we’re all happy now.

What else is new? Oh yes, there will be some changes with my original website (not my blogger site, but the general one) will be going thru some changes. I am going to keep it the way it is on Geocities until May, then I’ll fiddle around with it and gradually move it to my utoronto site.

Saw my grandpa today. Had a nice time going dim sum with him – apparently, grandma cleaned out all our old stuff and decided to give us back all our belongings. (We used to live in their house until we moved ten years ago) This includes my little tikes desk (which goes up to my knee!), and lots of old toys! I’ll post up pics of them once I have time to take the pic! But today was fun. I actually got some decent studying done – BUT IT’S NOT ENOUGH! GRR.

I’ve been told by Paul that my blogger lacks interesting topics – issues and things, and gossip circumventing my life… Hmmmm…. what DO you want to know? I do live a very dull life so I really don’t know what to tell at this moment.

Okay, I thought of something… involving my love life… *drumroll please… ooooh* It involves emode.com (“what?! Holly’s in love with emode?”). I was bored several days ago so I decided to do this test to see what kinda guy is suitable for me… so here’s the result. If you match any of the following, please DO give me a shout ;)

Want a guy who's into just about everything? Well, you've found him in your Renaissance Man! This guy is extremely passionate about everything you can think of. His interests run the gamut, from baseball stats to Dutch art, and he delves into all of his interests enthusiastically. Your guy will do anything and go anywhere and most likely have a smile on his face the whole time. You'll constantly be mesmerized by how much information he soaks up and retains. Whether it's because he's extremely well-cultured or due to hisromantic nature, you can't help but fall for this guy. Although he's got a plethora of redeeming qualities, this great catch can be some what scatterbrained. He can sometimes lose sight of reality and wind up living happily in the clouds. But when it comes down to it, that's exactly where this guy will put you — on cloud nine.

All right – I’m determined to get something done before I sleep – I think I’ll do some good old accounting work! Yippee! *yuck*

I'm FINALLY Done... (No, not with Studying, darn it!)

Yes, I am finally able to post my logs on my utoronto webpage. Carol reminded me (from her blogs) that Geocities was being a pain in the butt and would stop its remote FTP services (for free, that is). I refuse to pay money to a crappy Geocities. So I decided to switch to my Utoronto account. Might as well make good use of the several grand I pour into the University each year. Plus, no crappy advertising... which makes you and I very happy! Yay!

Anyway, lots have happened, but since this little technical difficulty has taken a bit of my time, I must first be studious and study for my tests. Gah. :P Will write more later.

BTW, Queen Mum died. :(

I don't want to end with a sad note, but I can't think of anything at this moment.

I am supposed to study but here I am again, trying to figure out how to work this ftp thing.

"when will this ever work?"

Read the below entry - I'm irritated with this ftp stuff right now.
individual.utoronto.ca isn't very helpful... gaaah.

Please Bear With Me

Technical difficulties may arise in the next few days due to Geocities being a pain in the butt - I have to switch my webpage location... GAAAH! Explain later : )

Please Cheer Me Up and Sign the Guestbook

BEFORE I FORGET TO BUG YOU, I WILL DO SO NOW. I ALSO HAVE A GOOD EXCUSE FOR IT AT THIS TIME.

PLEASE SIGN MY GUESTBOOK!!!

Since I'm unhappy, you guys have every reason to cheer me up :) haha. No seriously, I do want to know who has dropped by and who actually reads this. And for old friends, I just want to know if you're alive and well :) So if you read this, please sign the guestbook.

I promised myself I'll only ask once (in a blue moon), so I promise I won't be bugging you on the blog to sign my guestbook anytime soon. ;)

Back to my depressed stage - *sigh*

Dazed and Confused

I'm so exhausted. I lack energy and enthusiasm to do ANYTHING. I started my day at 10 am with a wonderful microeconomics lecture, and goes nonstop 'til now. I've been getting home late everyday this week, and am a bit depressed. KLS (aka Homey K) is right - what she wrote in my guestbook is true - I DO sound a bit depressed these days.

Where shall I start? Oh yes, tonight. It was the last Accounting Society of UT (ASUT) seminar for the year, and us execs for next year had to attend to "introduce" ourselves. I felt kinda out of place, since a) I was the only one not wearing a blouse or a buttoned up shirt, b) I looked like a mess, and c) I didn't really seem to network well with the recruiters from the Big 5. I DO really wonder if this profession is for me... :P I don't know. I just feel a bit discouraged that I didn't get to really know any recruiters, except for one from Andersen - she's a nice lady; met her at NBTC though, so we just caught up and chatted. Since the seminar tonight was on the recruiting process, the part concerning "academic achievements" scared me - i DON"T have the marks. I really shouldn't worry too much, but right now, I just feel depressed. At the same time, lots of freebies were given out, from countless CMA pens to this KPMG magnet. It's one of those "Today I feel ________" expression magnets with 30 different faces. I think I'll say this: "Today I feel Depressed" :(

For those reading, do you have any tips on networking with professionals? I desparately need help with this.

As I was coming home on the subway, I was depressed. (Actually, I still am) When I was walking from the platform to the kiss and ride stop at Finch Station, I heard this piano dude play and entertain commuters. I'm thinking I wanna get a TTC license and perform - not really for the cash, but for the love of music. Although I have deteriorated significantly these past few years with my fingers, I still wanna play. Right now, I'm learning the Pathetique (by Beethoven) by myself. :) But yeah, I wanna play at the TTC and have people enjoy my music. I don't wanna be famous - just wanna play. We'll see how that goes. I remember a few years ago, I wanted to be an organ player at the ACC - look where I am now. Still in the same position :)

KLS (aka Homey K, fromania, and Karen) sent me this really disturbing email yesterday. It's about George W. Bush, with his face plastered on different seductive or sexy photos. HOMEY K! That was really disturbing!

I'm just pooped out. I'm in a bad mood right now - I had tons of stuff to write last night, but now, my mind is blank.

GAH. >P

Back to Procrastination *D'OH!*

Hee hee... as I was printing up the solutions to Micro questions, I read thru this e-mail Cathy sent me - "What Simpsons character are you?"

So as usual, I decided to procrastinate and find out which Simpsons character suits me.

I was hoping for Maggie. Or Bart.

BUT NO.

I GOT MARGE. I can't really see myself like Marge Simpson - can you?

BTW - if you want to find out what Simpson character you are go here: http://www.vista-ray.com/~matt/simpsons

So Here Goes My Little Story....

If you read last night, I did mention my spirits were quite the opposite of being happy. I wasn't particularly stressed (actually, I take that back); something happened very unexpectedly. So here goes my little "story"

=====

Sunday Night - A very long awaited night, I must say. Not only were the Oscars going on, but for my family and I, it was a long awaited meal at our favourite restaurant in Toronto's Chinatown. We never go on our own... after all, we're only a family of three and can't possibly stuff ourselves silly at that awesome restaurant. So we planned this night out with three other families, awaiting to feast on seafood and other fine Chinese dishes.

Since driving downtown is always a pain in the buttocks, we originally planned to carpool with this family. However, the driver for another family (shall we call him Mr. X) wasn't up for driving downtown by himself. So we all shuffled the car pooling arrangements, and Mr. X and his family goes with my family to the lovely restaurant.

Everything seemed perfect. Mr. X's daughter was excited (oh, this girl is YOUNG but man, she knows her food well.... even more than I! When I was her age, I thought Mickey Dees was the best thing on earth...) We got to the restaurant safe and sound, and after waiting for a while, we finally seated. During that waiting period, I got myself into this conversation with these three Caucasians who were also in love with the restaurant and were regulars. After taking a while to order our fine dishes (I think it took like 15 minutes!), we enjoyed some good Chinese soup and chatted; Peggy was there too, so we got to chat about random things. Everything was fine up to this point.

FINALLY! The lobster has arrived! I thought, as long as the lobster's here, the oysters and other seafood dishes could wait. This auntie finally said "LET'S EAT!" Things got a little excited for all of us, and also a bit chaotic, since there were 13 of us and so little room to sit. All the sudden - THUMP. Instead of picking up my chopsticks and poking the lobster, I was staring at Mr. X. No, he wasn't like all of us, with chopsticks in our hands. His head was on the plate right in front of him, and he was unconscious.

What happened for ten minutes seemed like an eternity. Although I wasn't personally close to Mr. X, I knew him well enough. I honestly thought in my head "Don't close your eyes.... don't close your eyes." I also prayed silently. After all, with two kids at the table (including Mr. X's daughter), I didn't want to freak out and make things worse. Surprisingly, I was rather calm during this whole ordeal, with a chaotic group deciding who should call 911 and just others deciding what to do. Thank goodness one of us in the group used to be a nurse and was able to help take care of Mr. X. Although Mr. X woke up, he was still pale, and looked as if he was gonna collapse at any minute.

My dad quickly got the car and drove Mr. X to Mount Sinai Hospital with two other uncles in the group. However, the ladies and the kids all stayed at the restaurant - stunned, quiet, sad, crying. Not wanting to make the situation worse, I tried to cheer the kids up and ate the lobster quietly. Deep inside, I was thinking how fragile life was and how I often take it for granted.

Things were slowly getting better from that point on. As I'm typing, Mr. X is still at Mount Sinai. He's better. I've learned quite a bit through this experience. Never had I seen anyone collapse in front of me. At least not like that. It's interesting how Peggy and I were just talking about how to get on with life, as if it was a burden and all, earlier that night just before Mr. X collapsed. Life is so... special. Also, things happen unexpectedly... I had to remind myself to expect the unexpected.

=====

Through this experience, I was shaken up inside, but didn't really grasp it until I came home. I had trouble sleeping last night. I had to wake up at 7:30 this morning too, and just came home at 10:30 pm... so I'm exhausted... I guess words cannot totally express how I feel and what I've learned from this, but I've tried. I hope this also reminds you how life is short.... live it to its fullest.

In the meantime... I have to study stats. But I'm up for it! :) Take care for now.

3.24.2002

Blah, Blah, Blah

I gotta sleep now to wake up early for a 9 am ASUT meeting. Yay.

I had to watch a bit of the Oscars before going to bed... I was happy I caught the section where all the performers sang the theme songs to the greatest movies this year... Including Paul McCartney for "Vanilla Sky" (which was good), and Randy Neuman and John Goodman for Monsters Inc... and Randy Neuman got the Oscar! :) After being nominated (and humiliated, as he jokingly said... hee hee) 16 times, he finally won his Oscar. Yay!

Lots happened tonight. Although my mood here seems quite content, tonight's mood for myself, in reality, is on the other end of the spectrum. I'll share later. As for now, I gotta sleep and wake up early. Nite!

FYI...Oscars Update...

Yes, in midst of procrastination, I decided to update my blogger, as usual. Since there's Oscars fever running around town, I decided to post something I got from an email. (Hee hee - one thing cool about bloggers - it saves time from forwarding cool emails to a gazillion of your friends....)

Update...

Although I blogged yesterday morning, I feel like I haven't blogged in ages. At least not in detail... Lots of thoughts running through my head and lots of activities done... (which excludes studying, sadly) Anyway, here goes:

Thursday
My day started off great - I didn't have to teach piano since my student was sick. So I met Magda for coffee (actually, it was lunch for me, and bubbotea for her). I got to the cafe first... when I walked in, the girl behind the counter looked really familiar. Maybe I've seen her in pictures of different people's webpages. Dunno. I really wanted to ask her if she was the person I knew (got to know online... - we've got mutual friends though), but was scared that I would scare her off if she wasn't. So I hesitated and waited for Magda to come and order. So we ordered - the girl made my cream cheese bagel - it was GOOD ;) and Magda and I had a great chat about school and other things.... (hee hee) So when it was time for Magda to leave, I started to study; but I really wanted to ask the girl behind the counter if she was the girl I knew of... sadly, she went to the backroom and didn't come out again... at least not behind the counter. Just as she was about to go (since her shift was over), I finally couldn't resist and walked up to her:

ME: "Hi, sorry to bother you, but I was just wondering if you were Lydia...?"
HER: "Yes!... and you're Holly, right?"
ME: "Yep...!"
HER: "I thought you looked familiar... wanted to ask you but didn't know for sure."
ME: "Me too... this is so cool..."

(the conversation didn't go like this word for word, but more or less similar)

It was as if it was meant for us to meet like this, with the same intentions and same thoughts before we met. WOW. :) I look forward to knowing her better.... :) BTW, HI LYDS!

After this, I went to Hart House and exercised my butt off. It was refreshing... the rest of the day went by very quickly though.

Friday

I purposely went downtown to meet up with Jonny and his Hawaiian friend Jeremy (both from Cornell... Ivy Leaguers... *sigh*) It was fun - we were gonna go to Gabby's, but one of us was underaged, and since Gabby's got caught last week for allowing people under 19 in the bar, they were super anal about letting us eat there. So we went to Swiss Chalet... but I enjoyed seeing Jonny and meeting Jeremy. Too bad I couldn't join them at Pacific Mall since I had to teach piano. Fellowship at night was interesting. It was really nice to see everyone opening themselves up and just sharing their opinions and thoughts.

Peggy and I went to Second Cup after fellowship - it was my third drink from second cup in a day. I have to cut second cup... GAAH. Anyway, we had a nice chat, in a very nice and non-asian environment. I enjoyed it. Pegz, if you're checking this out and reading this - I'm happy :) heeheehee.

Saturday

Not much done today... actually, lots of chores and what not accomplished, but with studying, it's on the other end of the spectrum. I managed to get ONE section from stats done... Yay. Anyway woke up late for once (that was good....), and went out for brunch with my dad. My father and I have these special get togethers from time to time, just the two of us. We went to this place that's really homey - Fry Basket.

While we were finishing up at the restaurant, Dad looking like he was deep in thoughts... very contemplative. So I asked him what was up. He was saying how the restaurant reminded him of the place he stayed at during his first summer in Canada (after his first year at Queens Univ.)... and then he started talking about that summer. It was very very interesting and hilarious, especially when he brought up the population of the town he was staying in. Guess how many people lived in a little town in Ontario called English River? at that time, 17 people lived in English River, including my father. :) hee hee hee. My father can come up with great stories, though he is mostly dull. :)

Got home, was planning to do some stats, but ended up doing laundry and sweeping the floors, making the house look somewhat pretty... and talked with Waiki on ICQ. MAN, because of this dude, I'm gonna start making a "peeve of the day" section for each blogger!!!! (look below later... especially you, WAIKI!) But yeah, he sounded like my father, trying to bug me to get away from ICQ to work.... but he thought that sounded too old, so now, he's my bro, and i'm the lil 'sis.... (ooh, i'm the lil 'sis of two people!!! CATHY AND WAIKI!!!!!! it's weird - The last time I mentioned Waiki, Cathy's name was mentioned too.... hehe interesting.... 'cause Cath and Waiki don't know each other!)

Ian's b-day is on Monday, so we went out to celebrate. Shabu-shabu was filling, but GOOD. We were gonna call Karen Ho after dinner to get her to come out for second cup...... as I was eating and busy fiddling with the hot pot, I heard someone knocking on the glass right next to me (the table next to us was divided by this glass window) - looked up and saw KAREN HO! hee hee hee. What a coincidence. Too bad she couldn't join us at second cup though... Ah wells. It was fun... although for some strange and odd reason, dad wanted me to come home at 11, 'cause he thought it was late. I normally go out at 11... 0_o

=====

so It's early Sunday morning, at 12:13 am. My mom just called me twice to run down to the TV room to see a) a Britney Spear's performance in Las Vegas ('cause it was soooo nice - no, not Britney... the set up of her performance and the water fountain), and b) to see this item that's on sale on the shopping channel. She wanted to buy this set of old coins... Man, Vivian (from Vivianlives) is sooo right - those infomercials ARE hypnotic - earlier this week, I wanted to buy this thing called the firm direct. Luckily, Tina and Ben persuaded me NOT to buy it. :)

OK, so to start my new "peeve of the day" section, I honour this section to WAIKI for giving me the inspiration to start this. Thanks Waiki! :)

Peeve of the Day: Waiki bugging me on ICQ... asking me endless mind boggling questions, and telling me to go do my work.... :P GAAAH :) (but you're still my bro, Waiki! Hee hee hee)

All right, my head is hurting, so I'm gonna rest now! Bye bye...!

I'm in Pain....

After working out on Wednesday AND Thursday, I am in pain. My tricepts are killing me, and it hurts everytime I sneeze 'cause my abs are sore too. GAAAAH!!! WHY? TINA AND BEN!!! EXPLAIN! Anyway, I ran at Hart House yesterday on the treadmill... I'm proud of myself, 'cause I was able to run for 15 minutes without dying.... and was sweating a lot too. But there's no need for me to get into those details here. Hee hee, after all, I don't want you to click the close button on the top right corner of this window right now... :)

Well, I've been surfing a bit lately (despite my tight schedule with tests and exams coming up), and I've gotten thru a few interesting sites... here are some of my recommendations:
- Yesterday Land!
although I've never really been immersed into TV and all that when I was a kid, I still remember the good old toys and cartoons. It's a great site to remember the old times! (Thanks Ian for the site... very interesting)
- Honda Racing
As much as I'd like a S2000, I know I'll never get one 'cause I can't even afford a scooter. : ) But here, you can race to your hearts content with a CRV, S2000, Civic, CivicSiR :) You just need to download some cruddy program and you'll be on the tracks in no time. Sadly, the thing didn't work on my laptop 'cause my computer's just screwed. But do try it out and tell me how it goes.

Anyway I only have 4 minutes left of internet time. I'm at Second Cup right now, waiting for friends so we can meet up for lunch. Actually, it's just Jon and his Hawaii-Dude buddy from Cornell... they're up for the Spring Break... so Ian and I are meeting them up. Yay. In the meantime I'm sipping on an extra large caramel corretto. yum.... :) But time's running out, so I better go. Blog more later! :) ('cause yesterday was an interesting day and I do wanna blog it ^.^)

The Art of Ballet in the Game of Badminton... Part Two

Well, today was badminton day with Tina and Ben again. That was fun... tiring but fun. I'm quite sore right now as I'm typing, but it's a good feeling. So I met up with Tina at the AC at around 2, and we went to the Weight Room. I've never really used weights before, so it was a fun experience. With a lot of complaints and "ahhs!" I got the hang of using the weight machines and the weights. I started with a 3 pound (yeah yeah, I know I'm weak), but that'll gradually improve. Tina showed me how to use the exercise ball too for the abs. That was fun! She kept telling me I wouldn't fall off the ball while I leaned backwards on top of it... but I tumbled twice. At 3, the three of us headed to the Sports Gym for some good old badminton. Again, as the title of today's blog says, I did my usual ballet moves - and added in more flashy landings - like falling face down on the floor in a stylish way. Ben, the dancing master, taught Tina and I how to prance too, in order to hit his ugly little birdy dips. GAAAH. All in all, it was a fun session - and I'll miss those two when they graduate. NEED A NEW BADMINTON PARTNER. CALL ME IF YOU'RE INTERESTED.

Yesterday, I treated myself to the most recent issue of "In Style". Apparently, there's gonna be an In Style event in Chicago on June 22-23!!!! Inside Instyle is gonna be sooo cool. I SOOO WANNA GO! I talked to Carol about it, and I sooo wanna go with people. Anyone interested? (I feel like I'm posting in the classifieds for today... hee hee) Apparently there's gonna be lots of workshops and sessions on stuff they cover in the their magazine - fashion, home decor, etc.... I still find it amazing how I'm interested in going to this event.

Oooh, speaking of Carol - CONGRATS to her on the biz project case competition!!! Go kick some buttocks Carol!

I was talking to Jon (Ng) on AOL IM... our initial topic of conversation was on girlfriends (for him, of course...). All the sudden, he asked me if I wanted to be buff... and out of nowhere, he says he likes chatting on IM. It was a funny conversation, since we were jumping from topic to topic simultaneously. Okay - this was supposed to be funny, but now that I look back at what I wrote, it doesn't seem as funny as it was meant to be. Ahhh, it must be the effects of my malfunctioning brain. It is 12:17am, and I am getting old.

Oh, my arm is sore from weight lifting right now. Ouch. My life is dull - nothing to write about for now. Hee hee.

3.20.2002

More and More Ranting and Raving for Today...

Well, today hasn't really been my day. Too long to go into detail.... but I've been in a bad mood for the past two days. Since I have my workout date with Tina and Ben tomorrow, I hope things will turn around and look brighter! (but sadly, I have MGT224 after our date... and that means another dreadful class with Prof. Segal.... - the prof that think I'm dumb... booooo)

I'm getting tutored for MGT224 though (Accounting), 'cause I don't want to risk having a really low mark for this course. 2nd Year's been tough, especially at UT. UT has this conspiracy of kicking people out during their 2nd year. GAAAH. So as I was walking to the subway station after the tutorial session, I was just enjoying the night life downtown. Don't get to see much of it... When I got home, I was hoping to go to the mailbox to get the mail (our mailbox is at the beginning of the street, not in front of our house) When dad told me he got the mail, I was disappointed; it was at that point I realized I enjoy being outside at night... I enjoy taking night walks - in the city or outside in the woods. Perhaps it's at night when all the frenzy and worries of life doesn't seem to affect you. Darkness really makes you realize there's something MORE out there to reach for... and that you need faith and what not. I don't know.... but I do enjoy night walks.... I'm kinda looking forward to my next tutorial session already! Hee hee.

On a completely different note, I'm sad too because of Singapore. Why Singapore? BECAUSE THEY FOUND OUT POCKY STICKS ARE CANCEROUS!!!!! GAAAAH!!!! I LOVE POCKY STICKS!!!!!!!!!! WHY DID THEY TELL ME THAT?! I'd rather eat to my hearts content on these pockey sticks than to know they would kill me. It's not like cigarettes where you'll know they can kill you; Pocky sticks' fate was unknown until Singapore found out. GAAAAAH. I'm sad now. No more brain food. My mom freaked out upon hearing that fact. I was sobbing inside when I heard on the Chinese news.

While doing my accounting homework on the comp, I got into a little mini discussion as to whether Vivian Livingston from "vivianlives.com" really exists. While us girls like to think she exists (and some do think she does), guys have doubts. I don't know... Like Tina and Carol - I'd like to think she exists.

Anyway it's late.... and I gotta prep for tomorrow's big and long day. Besides, I've blogged enough for today as is. :P xoxo me :) (oooh, vivianlives is slowly slowly influencing me... hehehehehe)

What I Wanna Do...

Lately, I've been wanting to do a lot of things. Here's a list of my short and long term wants:

- To eat sashimi and sushi: I haven't had any raw fish since the reading week - that was when I went out with Cathy (ahhh, salmon sashimi roses... *drool*) WHERE ARE MY SUSHI BUDDIES?!? CATHY? Karen LS - I thought we were gonna celebrate! You were supposed to call me this weekend! Gaah! But yeah, I have this constant craving of sushi and sashimi. Best place for california rolls - Kanichiwa on Baldwin St. Otherwise, sashimi and sushi anywhere else should be all right.

- To pass 2nd Year with a decent mark: My marks this year are disgusting. :P No need to explain. Those who go to school with me will know what I'm going through.

- To mature spiritually: I've been slacking - NO GOOD. I've been lazy... 'nuff said. I guess I've been prioritizing a LOT of things before my own life with God, which is not great. A lot of things I want to let go, but at the same time would want to hold onto... I think GIVING UP is the biggest problem thus far.

- To take hip-hop/dance lessons: My piano students danced for me last week and tried to teach me how to dance - I WANNA LEARN HIP HOP!!! it's sooo cool. "Save the Last Dance" also inspired me. I always enjoy dancing to beats... plus, when I'm bored waiting for the subway, I try to dance (of course, I look silly since I don't know anything about dancing). I want to learn hip hop! I tried break dancing once before, but couldn't even get the basic six-step right. *sigh*

- To learn piano - again: After spending some time at the Hart House music room and watching Andrew (my theory friend and now my latte buddy and UT friend) practice his ARCT songs, I am pretty sure I want to learn piano again. I played with him as well, comparing our different styles of playing Khatchaturian's Tocatta and Moonlight Sonata. That was fun. I felt that I've wasted 12 years worth of piano skills during the past three years of not playing the piano regularly. My mom pestered me into taking lessons, but I never got to them. It wasn't until recently (just promptly before I started teaching piano) that I realize I SUCKED. I wanna learn again.

... and the list goes on. It's late, but I wanted to ramble. :) Just staying up late 'cause of my accounting assignment - I procrastinated and decided to start working on it two days before it is due. *sigh* I am so behind in school... :(

The more I check out vivianlives.com , the more I like it. My favourite Viv-cam moments include her dancing and singing at a club... that was funny. :) I like Omlette's sarcasm as well... but I'm too tired for a thorough critique of vivianlives.com right now.

Anyway, Night!

Back from Montana's...

Tonight was just crazy. Either "Resident Evil" screwed Karen, Donald, and Ian up and made them all insane, or the drink I had last night was still making me light headed tonight. I couldn't stop laughing. Karen kept hearing the wrong thing. Donald and Ian... well, they were weird too. It was fun though. We had this Giddy Up Appetizer thingy which was really good - it had garlic break, nachos, chicken tenders, spinach dip, everything that was bad enough to clog up your arteries. :) I liked it a lot...

I think after tonight, I won't be going out until exams are over... boo hoo....

Ah, ASUT…

So last night was the first ever ASUT get together for the new and old crew. Not everyone was there, but it was still a blast. We were supposed to have a meeting… and we did! (It lasted for 3 minutes, considering we were together for 3 hours)

It took place at Milestones downtown. I’ve heard good stuff about Milestones but have never been there before. Got there around 5:30, and had a drink to start off with. Unfortunately, I suffered through endless jokes about my last name with two of the guys in the old crew… (they were funny…. up to a certain point, that is). Anyhow, everyone finally got there an hour later. We thought the CSA people were gonna join us, so we gobbled up all the appetizers (and leaving only one calamari for Mark, the new marketing dude, who came late), but CSA didn’t show up. Nonetheless it was a fun night. Also realized that two members from the old crew used to go to Thornlea as well. One of the guys wrote in his yearbook quote “After five years of high school I am proud to announce that Thornlea has increased my chances of being unemployed.” Well, he’s going to PWC next year, so… heh.

Just a little off topic, but the waiter who served us last night got a BIG tip from us. After all, he did suffer enough harassment from us :) he was good looking, to the extent he looked like Dawson from "Dawson's Creek". Because of this, the guys kept calling him Dawson instead of Graham (his real name, of course). But yeah, he was nice... (I don't know why, but I always notice waiters at restaurants for some reason...)

Anyhow, took some pics and left the ASUT people at around 8:30 to join Josiah for the remainder for fellowship. We shared tidbits of our wisdom, which include buying cheap movie tickets in a group of 12, as well as interesting health information. It was cool. I got there in time for my cookies! Ian bought them on my behalf for the “instant” potluck. What do I mean by “instant”? The rules of the potluck are as follows: everyone has to bring something that is instant by nature, let it be ramen noodles, kraft dinner, hamburger helper, etc. I was lazy, so I decided to get Pilsbury cookies for dessert. :)

I just realized how long I haven’t blogged for. To me, a few days is pretty long. ANYWAY…

My bud and director from NBTC, Tina is pushing me to start working out on a regular basis. No ifs or buts. So, I’m supposed to work out at least three times a week. I’ll keep her updated… no need to share that with you :)

Before going to Milestones last night, my mom dropped me off to take the TTC at Scarborough Town Center since we were in that area. I did some shopping there, and I AM SOOOO HAPPY! My intention was to look for a business suit, which I am in a desperate need for. Instead, I got myself a Roots T-shirt… it’s not an ordinary t-shirt, it’s an Olympic HOCKEY CHAMPION women’s t-shirt!!! YAY! Those who know me well know I’m a Roots and Hockey freak. With the two combined, I’m in heaven :)

Today was a somewhat productive day. I finally got my micro textbook opened and learned what makes up a monopoly. Yay. Then I fell asleep from reading about monopolies for two hours… and woke up just as my dad came home. We ran some errands and had a nice coffee from Tim Hortons (speaking of which, I still haven’t gotten my winning streak started! Dang!). I should do some more work instead of updating my blogger…. but here I am. Meeting up with Ian, Karen Ho, and Donald for Ian’s and Donald’s birthday at Montana’s later on tonight…. (Ah, back in the good old days, Karen, Donald, and I were constantly made fun of because of our last names… as usual.) As I'm typing, they're in the theatre watching "Resident Evil"...

Well enough blogging for now. Write more later :)

The Art of Ballet... in the Game of Badminton

Interesting title? Well, I didn't even realize this until today. Met up with my NBTC buddies, Tina and Ben, for a good game of Badminton at the AC (Athletic Center at UT). Mind you, I haven't played badminton for a year, so I was pretty rusty. Apparently, I was just prancing around the court trying to get the birdie, with all these interesting jumps and back stretches. I never knew I was that flexible. Haha. It was fun, except Ben killed me. GAAAH. We're planning on playing regularly now. Yay! Too bad they're graduating so soon.

Other things... well, Magda (my frist friend ever from UT... met her in that awful stats seminar) informed me that my entry on March 6 about some French Prof was kinda misleading. Made it seem like I had something going on with the microeconomics French Prof. If that's the impression you got, erase it. I have not even spoken to this man once. Never. :) But it did make me laugh in micro class when Magda told me.

I got a call from my work place from last summer. They're hiring me again. As much as I want to get a new job at a new environment, I'm taking the job. This year is a difficult year to find ANY type of job, so I'll just stick with my old one. I'm just grumpy about it 'cause they're not giving me a raise from last year. :( Don't returning employees get some sort of benefit? :P

The Commerce Students Association election results are out. Next year's group is ALL ASIAN. It's quite... interesting (not in a good way). My friends think Rotman is practically runned by Asian people. Sadly, I agree with them and I feel kinda weird. I think a lot of people who ran for the elections deserved to win. Since I'm on the ASUT next year, I better not say too much in case this may get me in trouble with the CSA. GAAH. (ASUT is under the CSA, that's why)

My friend Carol (from Western) introduced me to this spunky website... Vivian Lives I really like it since it's like a journal (about vivian's life, of course) plus a whole archive of interesting fashion and careers stuff. Of course, y'all know I'm a tomboy... I wonder if anyone would read something like "Vivian Lives" except it's a tomboy version... Haha, maybe I'll start something like "Holly Lives" (all right, maybe not with a tacky name like that) with all the info you can get about the life of a tomboy, the styles of a tomboy, and of course, massive coverage of sports. Hee hee :)

Speaking of sports, the Raps lost again. They lost bad too, since they lost by one second. However, the Leafs aren't doing as bad as predicted. Corey Schwab is actually decent. Not great, but good enough to keep the Leafs losing. Props to him. :)

That's enough from me for today. 'Til next time, bye bye.

Out of Class... Again...

I think I made a big mistake this year when I decided to take micro and macro economics right after another. I got so bored from macro so I came up to the library to blog. Haha. Actually, my main intent was to work on this resume and cover letter, but the stupid computer doesn't have any programs besides netscape. Woo hoo.

This morning I got a ride to school from my mom. We took the local route to get downtown, since the 404 is always congested in the morning. We passed by the Ontario Science Center, it it was quite a hilarious scene (to me, at least). Since there's a labour union strike going on, all these people are picketing in front of the science centres. You see the typical slogans:
"TORIES SUCK!"
"MIKE [HARRIS] MADE US STRIKE!"
"MIKE SUCKS!"
etc. etc.
I even saw mike's head bopping up and down on one of those slogan boards. Quite hilarious.

At the same time, we drove past a TTC bus, with an advertisement for this show "so little time" staring the Olsen twins. They've gotten pretty old looking. I bet you they look even older than I. They were annoying before while starring in Full House, but they're even more irritating now. I've actually seen the show once *shame on me*; it's awful.... so valley-girl like. *gag* Did I ever tell you people "Full House" was my favourite show in the whole world at one point? I LOVED FULL HOUSE. Believe it or not, I actually wanted to be friends with Stephanie, have sisters like Michelle, and a cool house like theirs. Of course, all those thoughts and inspirations (except for the latter) have died :) but I wouldn't mind seeing Full House on the air again. Just for the laughs.

Oooh, class is almost over. Must meet Lily (my class buddy) for lunch... yay! More to blab about later.

Oh yeah, I finally heard from my "procrastination soulmate" - i was quite surprised to find a link from her page to mines... (since I've never met her before) in one of her journal entries. :) I hope to meet up with her sometime. We found out this world is QUITE small... with many mutual acquaintances....

All right, see y'all later. Don't be like me; don't skip class.

3.11.2002

I'm supposed to be in class, but right now I'm at the UC library, writing in my blogger. :) We're just doing our speeches and I finished, so here I am. Today was a weird day; though I can't stay up here for a long time, (let's pretend I wasn't feeling well and had to get some fresh air haha) I'll try to write as much as possible.

It feels weird that the CSA campaigns are over - it means it's back to school mode. That's right, no more going to school for non-educational purposes. (Last week was fun albeit campaigning was a pain in the buttocks) The ASUT one (the one I ran for) was over last week, but the giveaways continued until Friday. Now, it's time to vote and I'm torn between voting for friends running against each other. I guess this is the downside to campaigning.

What added to the weirdness today was the fact I bumped into many people. Not just one or two, but MANY. Some brought up sad memories of my junior high days (gaah, let's not go there again), but the others were cool. I bumped into this guy I met at TC and thru theory; he's in med school now. I also bumped into my Science Olympiad buddy, Jamy Li! *Jamy, if you're reading this, please message me!!! I accidentally pressed "close" to the authorization button before asking for your permission to add me!* It was an interesting day.

I've been up here for four minutes. I guess I've had enough of *fresh air* :) tee hee hee. Gotta finish up acctg homework tonight. :P I'll see you all later online then!

I'm tired....

.... physically and mentally, that is. This morning, I went to NBTC considerably early. I woke up around quarter to eight and got to the Ramada Inn at 9 am, while everyone was still asleep. So I fell asleep on the sofa they had near the conference room and was woken up by the logistics guy just in time for brunch at 10. Right now, I'm longing to sleep but my dad's hogging the shower. I'm also trying to catch up with all the work that's piled up since I started campaigning. Haha. I'm screwed.

So right now, I've got a pile of corporate goodies on my desk, ranging from pens (I got 5 nortel pens!!), coasters, NUMEROUS hi-lighters to a fleece hat from Accenture and even shoe shine from KPMG. Too bad I couldn't win the copy of Windows XP from the committee member draw. Otherwise, I'm pretty satisfied. The conference went on very smoothly, except for this morning's panel. The panel was fine - it was the pre-panel meeting that scared me. Long story - one panelist thought I asked him to be a moderator, and wasn't prepared for the panel. Luckily, the nice guy from e-Scotia convinced him to "wing" it; and he did, so I'm happy. Besides, I checked my the first e-mail I sent to him, inviting him to become a panelist - HE MISREAD IT!!!!! But I guess Journalists gotta glimpse thru their e-mails quickly... But I'm not gonna fret about this no more.

I've gotten quite a few business cards for these past few weeks. I never know what to do with them. Even when I take the initiative to e-mail them, I never know what is appropriate to ask and what isn't. Ah wells, I got one from an Andersen lady, so let's see how that goes.

During the ONE seminar I went to today, the speaker had many interesting quotes. Among them was one that stood out: "good judgement comes from experience, and often experience comes from bad judgement" (rita mae burn) quite true.... wise words to live by :)

I think I'm getting tired - my writing is becoming more 'ghetto' and lazy... All in all, NBTC was fun and a rewarding experience.

BTW, Raps lost to the Magics today... Shame. T-Mac and his crew wins again. Can someone get some sense into the raptors?

NBTC and other matters...

It's been days since I've written - okay, maybe just one full day, but still, it seems like forever. I'm coming to realize the fact that Holly doesn't really have a social life. I skipped NBTC last night (while they were clubbing, partying, and stuff) to do a case study. Yay. Tonight, I left the semi-formal at 10:30pm. Most people just started to dance then. I also realized I don't know how to dance. I tried dancing to a few songs at the semi, but I couldn't keep up. So I decided to take a break :) I've never gone clubbing before, but I don't really regret it. I don't think I would be the clubber type anyway. However, I wouldn't mind seeing what it's like for once.

Enough about my lack of social life. NBTC was interesting. It's almost over! (If I say "Yay!" that wouldn't be good, but if I say "Awww..." I wouldn't be honest either... I guess if I was a delegate rather than a committee member, I would be sad) During the dinner, I was sitting with this ONE speaker that decided to join our semi (which was odd, since everyone else was a student). I ended up talking to him about my obsession with Tim Hortons. Turns out he's a Tim Horton lover too. In fact, he's crazier than I am, since he has ALL the locations within 10 miles from his workplace loaded on his Palm. Then we talked about the area where he worked in, and he realized I was nearby... (he works at the main IBM on Steeles Ave); he mentioned he lived around there too... turns out he lived near my elementary school and had kids who went to my [dreadful] junior high school. His last name rung a bell. All the sudden, I freaked the speaker out by asking "Is your son's name Kevin?" (and of course, I got it right!) And that was that. Quite interesting how small this world is.

On to sports (ahhh, the life of a tomboy!); the raps finally won a game! (it's weird too 'cause they won against miami, who's kinda on a roll) - although many speculate lenny wilkens may possibly get fired, or even glen grunwald, i think if the raps don't smarten up their game, lenny would probably quit before he gets fired. The players on the team are just awful, with the exception of Antonio Davis, VC, Keon Clark, and.... (I can't think of anymore). We'll just see what happens.

Speaking of tomboy, I DESPARATELY NEED HELP IN LEARNING LOOK MORE BUSINESS-LIKE AND MORE GIRLY!!! I went to the Semi and I was sooooo out of style; my hair was awful as well, since it got soaked in rain when I was walking to meet my Case Competition group members. : ( I need help.

Anyway, must get ready for bed so I can face another day of NBTC. Yay.... ; )

3.08.2002

I just went to run some errands for NBTC. Took me an hour just to find a box of chocolates that were decently priced. Can't believe there are NO PARKING SPACES AVAILABLE at the Shops on 404 and Steeles. What shops are there to shop at?! At most, there's Carlton Cards and Guardian Drug Mart (where I went to get the gifts!). Took me 10 minutes to find a spot. Drats.

I'm so tired now. That's my adventure so far - I can't wait until the meeting for the case comp. tonight with my group members. (sense my enthusiasm? haha)

BTW, to all who came out and voted yesterday, I forgot to say THANK YOU. Thanks for your concerns (I've received numerous phone calls...!).

Gotta run... bye bye.

I'm still craving for udon noodles. (I'm hungry now)
Ka-ni-chi-wa..... Ka-ni-chi-wa.....

(that's the place where I go for udon noodles - it's on Baldwin St; for some reason, I only like my udons there...'cause I really don't like the way Sushi Inn makes their udon noodles)

speaking of Ka-ni-chi-wa, they have the BESTEST california rolls one can ever try - Karen L-S can verify on that ;)

Ka-ni-chi-wa.....

After a surprising turn of events today in regards to the ASUT (Accounting Society of UT), the results were finally disclosed around 11ish tonight! (or should I say yesterday night, since I’m writing this at 1 am on Friday morning) I am one of the Junior Representatives for next year’s ASUT! I am very thankful, needless to say, ‘cause this week has been hell. I’m surprised I’ve pulled through this week without having a mental breakdown. Right now, I’m supposed to be reviewing the case for the Ernst & Young Case competition, but as usual, I’m procrastinating. I’ve read through the case and am going through the numbers now. Sometimes, I do wonder WHY I want to become an accountant. Heh.

As I was waiting for my mom at the Finch Subway Stop (on Pemberton Ave., which is kinda hidden), I bumped into Waiki (a.k.a. my punching bag!) and had an interesting chat with him. At least he kept my sanity since I was kinda anxious to get home (partly because of the case study and also for my appointment to tutor this kid). Nothing else besides the ASUT results was interesting.

I need a new song list. I’m sick of listening to the same old songs a gazillion times. According to my windows media player, I’ve listened to “Blow My Whistle” by Utada Hikaru feat. Foxy Brown 115 times… and I’m still not sick of that song. I enjoy singing to music. I can now sing “Automatic” (also by Utada Hikaru) without looking at the lyrics in Japanese. I’m trying to listen to some good jazz… I need recommendations, so if you’ve got any, please send ‘em over. I’m starting to admit to myself that I enjoy cheesy music. I really like Mandy Moore. She’s a good singer… who else? Of course, Craig David! But his music’s not cheesy. Alicia Keys is awesome though. I wanna go to Julliard too. :) We’ll see… maybe in the next fifty years? or maybe at 2:30 later on, when I go to la la land.

So I’m in a group of three for this Case Competition thingy. It’s quite interesting… we’re all in the same accounting class, and we all did poorly on our midterms (two of us are in the fifties, and one failed it by three percent – guess where I fall in!); we were saying, if we went to the finals, it’d be the laugh for the day. Hee hee.

I’m getting tacky. I think it’s an indication that I should go to bed soon. : )

personality tests

most of those personality tests bug me. so what if i'm a cherry? do i really want to be one? (sometimes when i want to become absolutely idle and do nothing) they truly don't represent you in anyway. but i thought this one was cool - what colour are you. i like to find out what kinda shade i am, since colour is an expression of one's feelings. (why else does art exist?)

anyway... here goes:

Green

You are a very calm and contemplative person. Others are drawn to your peaceful, nurturing nature.

Find out your color at Stvlive.com!

apparently, i am green. woo hoo :) kinda shows my conservative nature, i suppose. am i really all that contemplative? yeah i think so. i would be a bit skeptical about the calmness tho :) hehe

Yes! Campaigning is FINALLY over. No more giving out hamburger candies, no more saying “please come out and vote on Thursday” (although if you are a commerce student at UT, please do come and vote!), no more running from class to class campaigning, no more speeches, no more dealing with anxiety and stress, no more postering, no more running around campus like crazy, and no more sitting around the Rotman Atrium trying to get votes. YAY!

Too bad the Ernst & Young Case Competition starts tomorrow night as of 6 pm. I’m gonna die from stress. It doesn’t help that I have to help out at the National Business Technology Conference (NBTC) on Saturday, which is the last day of the competition. Luckily, I have nice group members who are willing to let me go on Saturday and help out (I gotta be around for NBTC since I am co-ordinating all the speakers and panels… grrr) Man, I feel like I’ve been going to school this week not for the education I’m paying seven grand for, but for extra-curricular activities. I hope Sunday comes by quickly.

I didn’t have a very exciting day today. Besides campaigning, I DID manage to go to most of my classes, including the dreadful accounting class (the prof made fun of me indirectly today… boo). After that, I went to see Cathy, who’s a Research Assistant at Rotman, and filled out this survey for her boss, who’s a very good looking Prof. (but he’s French, and after this year’s experience with my microeconomics French prof, I’m kinda afraid of them). She dropped me off by Bloor and Yonge afterwards; I decided to walk one subway stop down to Wellesley. I thought I was coming out of Evanston (a ghetto city in the Chicago area), with loud ghetto music blasting from Sunrise Records, plenty of punks hanging out in the streets, and of course, the night life. It also felt like I was in “Save the Last Dance” (yes, I enjoy cheesy movies)

I finally got to try and play “Hockey Night in Canada”! (while Nellie was trying out her cheesy S-Club 7 song!!) IT IS SOOO AWESOME :)

No more blogging for now. Must do some more NBTC prep.

3.05.2002

Hockey Night in Canada...

... so my friend Nellie and I were at Remenyi (across from the dreadful Royal Conservatory of Music building on Bloor) looking for her Enya sheet music. I was bored... but something caught my eye... THE SHEET MUSIC FOR HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA!!!!!!!! :) I'm super happy now... and although Nellie called me a tomboy and what not (HEY at least i didn't get a certain cheesy group's sheet music for a song) I'm still super duper glad. I mean, the Hockey Night in Canada Theme, aka Canada's Second National Anthem, is written by a woman who loves hockey. So, I'm happy and chipper.

... to keep up with the hockey theme, I then went to Chapters (where I had my third cup of latte for the day - my Chai latte) and got the Sports Illustrative Commemorative Magazine for Team Canada! oooh.... :)

reason why I'm sharing with you about this? 'cause I'm still waiting for a meeting to start (which was supposed to start at 10 pm... right now it's 11:12) GAAAAAAAAAH.

Caffine, Campaigns, and Cumulative Thoughts

Caffine...
I finally realized I’m immune to caffine. I’ve indulged myself with two Chocolate Lovers Lattes from Second Cup, as well as a Chai Latte from Starbucks today… and I still managed to fall asleep on the subway. I was so tired to the extent that I couldn’t wake up by the time I got to Finch (usually, I am able to wake up at North York Centre, the stop before Finch). Thank goodness the kind dude woke me up at Finch. I’ve had several incidents where I fell asleep on the subway and managed to wake up at Finch just as the subway doors closed and went back to North York Centre. I thought I was just immune to Tim Hortons… but I guess I’m immune to espresso as well… not good. Speaking of Tim Hortons, I finally won a donut from it’s roll up the rim contest. Let’s see how long my winning streak goes on for this year. Last year, I had four straight wins in a row.

Campaigning...
Campaigning is a pain in the buttocks. This year’s CSA (commerce student’s assoc.) and the Accounting Society’s campaigns occur on the same week…. I feel sorry for all the students that are being bombarded with us annoying campaigners and our little promo items. The campaign “bribes”, as some would call it, include candies, pens/pencils, fortune cookies with the fortune saying “be a smart cookie, vote for ___”, and last but not least, calculators. It’s insanely crazy. I can’t believe how much money one is willing to put into the campaign.

My friends Cathy and Waiki both helped me out with my slogans. I was giving out hamburger candies as my promo thingy. Cath thought of “Holz's got da beef!” It’s tacky, yet funny… Waiki thought of really funny ones though… here’s what we came up with:
“YO, vote Ho”
“Where did everyone go? To vote for Holz Ho”
and lots more funny, yet tacky, ones.

I had to campaign in the MGT123 class today... eew, I saw my old Prof, which gave me very very bad memories. Otherwise, it was a good day.

Cumulative Thoughts…
…there are lots. Just found out today a 680 News reporter, Jim Morris, passed away. It was quite shocking, albeit I do not know how he looks like nor do I know him personally. It’s just that you listen to the guy almost everyday, and find out one day he’s not going to inform you about the latest police investigations any longer. It’s kinda like a reminder for myself how short life can be and how I should treasure it.

I wrote a long entry last night, but it was deleted. I commented on how clear the sky was. Clear skies in winter are deceiving; that’s when the weather is the coldest. As I was waiting for my ride downtown, I saw the stars clearly, which is rare in the heart of downtown Toronto. That brought me back to the Josiah Retreat… how bright and magnificent the skies were. You could see the tiniest stars out there. I love gazing at stars. I remember using Mike’s maglite at Fairglen, gleefully pointing at the stars.

As much as I’d love to ramble on and on, I have to prepare for the National Biz. Tech. Conference. Bye bye for now.

AHHHHHHH i typed up a really long BLOG for today and it got erased.
GRRRR.
hehe it was quite entertaining as well....
:P

update you guys later!

well, i met all the candidates for the accounting society last night. i'm running against five other people... and there's only two positions available. they're all nice people.... and two of them are my acquaintances. gaaaah.

since i had to work on a project and do some campaigning, i had to drag my butt down to UT. (i don't have classes on fridays) for my lunch break, my friend mark and i went to mickey dees on bloor. he was ordering in one line, and i was ordering in another one. little did i know who the tall guy standing next to mark was.... until mark said "HEY! that's SCOTTIE PIPPEN!" so yep, i was in the same mickey dees as scottie pippen was. the mcdonald's cashier was sooo surprised.... this was him "I SERVED SCOTTIE PIPPEN!"

well that's the adventure for the day! :)
